James Yost is a Senior Landscape Architect Manager with GAI Consultants, guiding landscape architecture and urban planning initiatives within West Virginia and across the Northeast region. As part of GAI’s Community Solutions Group, he provides strategic direction for multidisciplinary teams, oversees project delivery, and leads regional business development and client‑relationship efforts to support the firm’s long‑term growth.

With over a decade of experience, James brings broad experience in planning and design for public- and private-sector projects. He is recognized for his ability to clearly articulate project vision and technical concepts to diverse stakeholder groups. His communication approach strengthens consensus, builds trust, and helps realize design solutions that are meaningful, intuitive, and aligned with client goals.

James holds a BLA, Landscape Architecture, from the University of West Virginia. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and trustee of the organization’s West Virginia chapter. James is also an active community contributor in Charleston through his involvement with local non‑profit organizations and citywide initiatives.
